Principal’s Message January 2015
From the Brentano Local School Council:
Dear Parents and Supporters of Brentano,
As you likely know, the Local School Council is in the process of selecting a new principal for Brentano. This is a responsibility that the LSC takes very seriously and we would like the parents, teachers, students and community to be a part of this important decision.
Candidate interviews have already begun, and in order to assist the LSC in their decision we would appreciate you taking a few minutes of your time to give us some feedback on what you feel are important qualities that Brentano needs in its new leader. Please take the opportunity to complete the survey, which can be found here.
Brentano has 2 interim principals - Drs. Gonzalez and Taylor- who are leading the school as the LSC selects a new contract principal. Dr. Gonzalez is a retired CPS principal and Dr. Taylor is an active principal and both are doing a wonderful job in their position. The principals report that the school is running very smoothly, which is a tribute to our highly capable teachers and staff.
Over the next month, the LSC will be gathering parent emails through the classroom teachers in an effort to improve communication between the LSC and current parents. Please respond if your child comes home with asking for your email address so that we have a mechanism to keep you better informed.
Many thanks to Mr. Harlan for writing and winning the After School All-Stars grant program, which will fund after hours sports, tutoring and activities for our kids!
The Local School Council meets every second Friday of the Month at 6pm. We hope to see you there!
